Choose or drop an image and start processing. The first run downloads the model. Check that the subject is preserved in the result; the checkerboard indicates transparency. Download as PNG to keep the transparent background.
When it helps
Useful for product cutouts, profile photos and presentation assets. Hair, transparent objects and subjects with colors close to the background can be difficult. The original file is unchanged, so compare it with the result before use.
How it works
BiRefNet runs in a Web Worker and downloads about 183 MB on first use. Images are never uploaded. Output is limited to a 1600-pixel long edge. Processing can take minutes or fail on devices with limited memory.

- Q. Does it work on every image?
- A. No. The model can select the wrong subject. Check the output and try an image with a clearer foreground.
